The role ensures that all HR policies, guidelines, and processes comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and operational risk standards. This position collaborates closely with internal HR and relevant SMEs (e.g., Operational Risk Management (ORM), Compliance, Legal, Audit, and regulatory authorities) to maintain safe, effective, and compliant HR Operations.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide advisory from Risk & Control (R&C) perspective on all HR policies, guidelines and processes and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure HR practices adhere to risk, compliance, and governance standards;Improve HR processes in governance, operational risk, and regulatory compliance areas to strengthen control effectiveness, and ensure compliance;Manage HR’s Operational Risk and Compliance activities, to ensure full adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and labor-related laws, including:Key Risk & Control Self-Assessment (KRCSA) and Key Operational Risk Indicators (KORI) monitoring;Oversight of the Risk Culture Dashboard and facilitation of Risk Culture Self-Assessments;Monitoring operational risk incidents, including timely escalation, documentation, and follow‑up remediation;Anti-Money Laundering Control Self-Assessment (AML CSA);Regulatory Risk Assessment and support for relevant Compliance review exercises;Managing outsourcing and non-outsourcing vendor activities related to HR services, ensuring vendor selection, contracting, and due diligence processes comply with the Bank’s vendor management policies;Strengthening HR data protection controls and promoting awareness across HR to maintain full compliance with applicable laws governing employee and candidate information.Liaise with relevant authorities when required, including SBV Trade Union, DOHA, Social Insurance Authority, Tax Authority, and others as applicable;Serve as HR’s Business Continuity Management Champion, maintaining HR BCP documentation and coordinating with bank-wide exercises to uphold readiness for business continuity requirements;Conduct periodic R&C testing and training within HR to strengthen risk awareness, reinforce compliance ownership, and enhance control maturity;Represent HR in engagements with internal and external auditors on HR-related audit exercises, ensuring accurate information provision, and effective coordination, monitor and track all action plans arising from audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments to ensure timely implementation and closure.Contribute partly or fully to HR and/or Bank-wide projects/ initiatives/ exercises.Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields;At least 10 years of experience in HR, preferably with strong experience in HR Operations and/or HR Risk Management/ Governance & Control;Process solutioning approach and critical thinking mindset;Fluent in English; effective communication and writing skills;Strong knowledge of HR processes and related regulations;Collaborative and good stakeholder management;Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks concurrently;High level integrity and attention to details;Essential technical skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).Additional RequirementsBe a Part of the UOB FamilyUOB is an equal opportunity employer.
