Company:Qualcomm Vietnam Company Limited, Hanoi Branch Office## Job Area:Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Hardware EngineeringGeneral Summary:Job OverviewThe Hardware Engineer / Senior Hardware Engineer (RF & Baseband) will be responsible for the design, review, integration, validation, and debugging of wireless hardware platforms covering both RF front-end and baseband circuits. This role supports product development from architecture definition through schematic and PCB review, board bring-up, tuning, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.The ideal candidate has solid hands-on experience with RF hardware and digital/baseband design, understands wireless communication systems, and capable of reviewing schematics and PCB layouts to ensure robust performance, manufacturability, and reliability. Senior-level candidates are expected to lead technical reviews, drive root-cause analysis.Minimum Qualifications
- Design, review, and support development of RF and baseband hardware for wireless voice and data communication devices.
- Review system architecture, block diagrams, RF configurations, schematics, PCB layouts, and test results.
- Design and/or review RF front-end circuits including PA modules, LNAs, tuners, power trackers, filters, matching networks, and related discrete RF components.
- Support baseband hardware design and review, including power, clocking, interfaces, control signals, and mixed-signal integration with RF subsystems.
- Perform hardware bring-up, tuning, characterization, debugging, and issue resolution at board level.
- Optimize hardware performance by balancing cost, performance, power consumption, size, and schedule requirements.
- Work closely with PCB layout, mechanical, antenna, software, test, and system teams throughout product development.
- Supervise or guide PCB layout implementation for RF and high-speed digital design best practices.
- Analyze and resolve issues related to RF performance, signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and hardware reliability.
- Support design verification, qualification, and production issue investigation when needed.
- For senior-level candidates: lead technical reviews, drive cross-functional problem solving, and mentor junior team members.
- Experience in design, development, and test of RF/analog subsystems for wireless communication systems.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, including impedance matching, S-parameters, Smith Chart, gain matching, noise figure, load pull, non-linear behavior, and RF tuning.
- Knowledge of wireless technologies such as 4G LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS/GPS, and other short-range wireless systems.
- Experience with Qualcomm or other mobile/wireless platforms is a plus.
- Working knowledge of RF front-end applications, wireless device qualification, and reliability requirements.
- Understanding of baseband hardware design topics such as power tree, clock design, reset sequencing, high-speed interfaces, signal integrity, and power integrity.
- Experience with PCB layout tools such as Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, Mentor/Xpedition, or equivalent.
- Experience with simulation tools such as ADS, HFSS, MATLAB, or equivalent for circuit, EM, and system-level analysis.
- Hands-on PCB rework and debugging experience, including soldering SMT components, blue-wire modifications, probing, and measurement-based troubleshooting.
- Experience with Qualcomm software tools such as QXDM, QPST, QRCT, or similar tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of SMT/DIP process is a plus.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
