- Work collaboratively with Production Planning and Warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when needed, preventing any disruption to manufacturing schedules.
- Monitor supplier deliveries proactively, resolving any issues that could affect production timelines or material availability.
- Maintain strong operational relationships with approved suppliers by coordinating order confirmations, delivery schedules, and shipment tracking processes.
- Support onboarding of new suppliers as identified by the wider procurement team while escalating major supply or commercial issues when necessary.
- Review purchasing requests thoroughly, converting them into accurate purchase orders with correct pricing, quantities, and delivery dates documented.
- Track open purchase orders diligently, following up with suppliers to ensure commitments are met under existing agreements or supply frameworks.
- Assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels by aligning purchasing activities with production needs while avoiding both stock-outs and excessive stockholding.
- Contribute actively to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing purchasing processes, supplier coordination efficiency, and delivery reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field is essential for this position.
- A minimum of 5-10 years' experience in purchasing or procurement roles within manufacturing environments is required to excel in this role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting factory or production procurement operations is highly desirable for effective performance.
- Familiarity with industrial components such as mechanical systems or manufacturing supply chains will enable you to hit the ground running.
- Strong capability in operational purchasing processes combined with excellent supplier coordination skills is vital for success.
- Exceptional organisational skills paired with disciplined follow-up practices are necessary for managing multiple purchase orders simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel as well as ERP systems is expected for efficient documentation and reporting.
