This is the Invention Age - and this is where you come in.General Summary:About Qualcomm AI ResearchQualcomm AI Research focuses on pushing the boundaries of efficient machine learning, generative AI, large language and vision models, robotics intelligence, multimodal learning, and on‑device optimization. Our research powers next‑generation experiences across mobile devices, XR, vehicles, robotics, and IoT systems.Role OverviewAs a PhD research intern, you will work with world‑class researchers on impactful projects, gain exposure to Qualcomm’s advanced AI hardware/software ecosystem, and contribute to novel algorithms that address real‑world deployment constraints. You will contribute to the full research lifecycle, from ideation to experiments, evaluation, and publications. Topics of interest include:
- Generative AI (text, image, video, 3D/4D)
- Large Language Models (LLMs), Large Vision Models (LVMs)
- Efficient model training & inference, test-time scaling
- Multimodal world modeling (video, vision, action, 3D scenes)
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Available for 3 months during summer.
- Expected graduation in November 2026 or later.
- 1+ years of experience in programming using C, C++, or Python.
- Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, linear algebra, optimization, and neural network fundamentals.
- Familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or TFLite.
- Research & Academic Strength: Publication track record at major ML/AI conferences: NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, EMNLP, ACL, etc.
