The Quality Technician at Jabil, Inc. plays a vital role in ensuring product quality and adherence to established standards throughout the manufacturing process. This position involves performing inspections, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality products and processes.Job Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to specifications, drawings, and quality procedures.
- Conduct various tests using appropriate measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs) to verify product conformity.
- Identify and document non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist in the investigation of root causes for quality issues and support the implementation of effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results, test data, and quality reports.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to address quality concerns and improve processes.
- Support the calibration and maintenance of inspection and test equipment.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality processes and procedures.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Experience with various inspection tools and measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).
- Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to identify and document non-conformances accurately.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
