- Strong public affairs ethics, conducting all activities with honesty and integrity.
- Experience working with the Government of Vietnam, relevant public sector agencies, state owned enterprises, or multinational companies in government affairs, public policy, or related roles is highly valued.
- At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in public policy, economics, political science, international relations, or a relevant discipline; a master’s degree or equivalent experience is an asset.
- For Associate candidates typically, three to five years of relevant professional experience. For Senior Associate candidates typically, five to seven years of progressively greater responsibility and experience.
- Strong understanding of Vietnam’s political system, regulatory processes, and policy environment, with demonstrated ability to navigate political sensitivity.
- Strong English language communication skills, both verbal and written; professional proficiency in Vietnamese required.
- Robust research, analytical, and briefing skills, with the ability to translate complex developments into clear client ready products.
- Proactive, can do attitude and willingness to provide strong support across both substantive client work and operational tasks.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across offices and time zones.
- Flexibility with respect to working and communication hours, particularly when coordinating with team members in Washington, D.C.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to adopt and utilize new tools, including AI enabled solutions.
- Support TAG’s Hanoi based and Washington based teams through high quality political, policy, market, and regulatory research and analysis focused on Vietnam.
- Closely monitor developments from Vietnamese government stakeholders and public sector institutions, advising internal teams and clients on implications for business strategy and risk management.
- Develop actionable strategies and recommendations to advance TAG clients’ business and policy objectives in Vietnam.
- Effectively manage relationships with government and public sector stakeholders and represent TAG and its clients in relevant engagements, as appropriate to level.
- Support engagement with Vietnamese government stakeholders abroad, including in Washington, D.C.,leveraging familiarity with Vietnam’s diplomatic missions and public private engagement channels.
- Work closely with business and corporate stakeholders, including industry coalitions, chambers of commerce, and trade associations, to support TAG’s client servicing and business development initiatives.
- Monitor Vietnamese language and English language print and online media for developments relevant to client equities and potential business opportunities.
- Support senior TAG staff in planning and executing public and private sector engagement initiatives.
- Contribute to the growth and development of TAG’s Hanoi office and the broader Vietnam practice.
- Provide logistical and substantive support for client engagements and partner travel to Vietnam, including support for senior executive visits and events.
