Job Description:Key Responsibilities1. Leadership & Management
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and drafters across Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and E&I disciplines.
  • Develop and implement project design execution plans, schedules, and resource
allocations.
  • Manage deliverables across multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Ability to produce project deliverables personally when required (e.g., design drawings,
calculations, specifications) to support deadlines or fill resource gaps.
2. Technical Oversight
  • Review and approve design documents, drawings, and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to Australian Standards, mining regulations, and client specifications.
  • Implement quality assurance (QA/QC) procedures, including checkprints, design reviews, and audits.
3. Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as the primary design contact point between the Vietnam office and Australian clients/EPCM.
  • Coordinate with onshore teams to resolve design queries (RFIs) and provide technical support.
  • Participate in virtual meetings with project owners, consultants, and construction teams.
4. Process & Tools
  • Ensure proper use of design software: AutoCAD Plant3D, MicroStation, Navisworks, BIM360, or equivalent.
  • Drive efficiency improvements through digital engineering workflows (3D model coordination, clash detection).
  • Maintain document control and drawing management per ISO and company QA procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural/Mechanical/E&I). Master's degree or post grad certification is an advantage.
  • 8+ years of engineering design experience, including at least 3 years in a lead/designmanager role.
  • Proven track record in mining, heavy industry, or oil & gas design projects.
  • Experience working with or delivering to Australian projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards (AS1657, AS4024, AS1170, AS3000, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and cross-discipline coordination skills.
  • Fluent in English (technical and business communication).
  • Proficient in Autodesk Plant3D or similar platforms.
