- Performs the daily opening/closing shift duties of the department and ensures that all team members comply with service standards, departmental policies and operating procedures set by the hotel.
- Provide exceptional service to guests by promptly welcoming and courteously serving guests while engaging in meaningful conversation.
- Be fully informed of beverage and menu offerings, in anticipation of guest needs and to deliver highly attentive service.
- Assists the Head Bartender in the curation of new and innovative beverage menu.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safe and condition of the bar.
- Ensure the bar and its equipment are clean and fully functional.
- Responsible for inventory checks and management of all bar supplies, ensuring that all stocks are maintained at PAR level. Notify supervisor/manager when stocks are running low.
- Maintain a record of inventory supplies and inform the team should any item is low, running out.
- Maintains strong working relationships with other departments to ensure effective communications for operational issues, serves as a role model for inter-departmental collaboration and support
- Recognizes the importance of LQA and Forbes standards as to deliver excellent audit and service performance.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of the hotel daily services, activities, promotion, and event. Effectively communicate and update all team members on any changes to ensure guests receive up-to-date information.
- Handling complaints and resolving service 'Glitches', keep a record of all feedbacks under the appropriate system. Ensures that the issues are resolved in a timely manner to guests' satisfaction.
- Check in with guests on their orders in an un-intrusive, discreet manner to obtain feedbacks for continuous improvement.
- Ensures that the bar and working area is kept clean and organize, complies to the local law of alcohol service and food hygiene policy and procedures set by the hotel at all times.
- Diploma of college or university preferably in Culinary/Bar Management or equivalent level of experience.
- Certification in Bartending is of advantage
- Experiences in similar role at luxury hotels/resort
- Excellent interpersonal skills with personable character, good at cultivating strong guest relations
- Knowledge of alcohol serving practices and standards
- Strong knowledge in beverages and food pairing
- Good command in spoken and written English
- Competent computing skills
