- Conduct high-impact research in communication and media studies, contributing to academic scholarship, industry innovation, global discourse, and VinUniversity's expanding research ecosystem.
- Publish in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
- Pursue external funding and build research collaborations within VinUniversity's global network.
- Engage in interdisciplinary research projects that integrate digital transformation, media studies, and public communication.
- Teaching:
- Faculty are expected to deliver high-quality instruction while enhancing the student learning experience through innovative and experiential teaching methods, ensuring that students gain practical, real-world skills in multimedia communication.
- Faculty members will teach a variety of Multimedia Communication courses, including but not limited to: Introduction to Communication; Media Production Social Media Management; Writing for Media; Courses in Digital Communication, Public Relations, Business Communication, and more
- Active Learning: Develop and implement hands-on, student-centered learning approaches, such as Team-Based Learning (TBL), Project-Based Learning (PBL), and Action-Based Learning (ABL).
- Student Mentorship: Guide and support students in academic growth, research initiatives, professional development, and industry preparedness through advising, coaching, and career-oriented learning.
- Program & Institutional Development: Contribute to curriculum design, interdisciplinary collaboration, and university service, ensuring VinUniversity's programs remain innovative and globally relevant.
- Academic Qualifications: A PhD in Communication or a closely-related field from a reputable university.
- Record of Research Excellence (or Potential Thereof): A demonstrated track record of impactful research in communications, media production, media studies, or related fields-evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed international journals, conference presentations, and/or industry collaborations-or strong potential to develop a robust research agenda.
- Subject-Matter Expertise: Deep expertise in communication, media, public relations, digital studies, or closely-related fields, with the ability to contribute broadly to research and teaching programs.
- Experiential Learning Proficiency: Proven experience with Team-Based Learning (TBL), Project-Based Learning (PBL), and Action-Based Learning (ABL).
- Record of Teaching Excellence: A demonstrated history of teaching effectiveness, supported by student evaluations, teaching awards, or other recognitions.
- Industry Experience: Candidates with real-world experience in communications, media, or public relations are highly valued, as they can equip students with practical skills, industry insights, and hands-on expertise that align with current market demands.
- Adaptability & Innovation: A forward-thinking, adaptable mindset, with a willingness to embrace new teaching methods and thrive in an evolving academic environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
- International Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching in multicultural or international settings is highly valued, as is the ability to effectively engage and support students for whom English is a second language, using inclusive and adaptable teaching methods.

- Work Permit Eligibility: International applicants must have at least three years of relevant work experience to meet Vietnam's work permit requirements.
- Work permit: VinUniversity will assist in and provide advice for obtaining the necessary paperwork needed for employment in Vietnam (visa, work permit, insurance, etc.). However, it is your responsibility to ensure that you can satisfy all the paper requirements in a timely manner.
- Living costs: Vietnam has a comparatively low cost of living and expatriates can live a very comfortable life here with a moderate expenditure.
