- Assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Landscaping Department
- Develop or refine plans for the project, which may include ornamental plants, ground cover, and landscaping structures
- Stay current with industry trends to apply appropriate horticulture practices aligned with Six Senses guidelines, while considering organic, social, environmental, and economic factors
- Maintain and exceed Six Senses sustainability and landscaping standards
- Ensure high standards of appearance, grooming, and hygiene, and maintain strong knowledge of safety, security, and emergency procedures for self and team, in compliance with brand and legal requirements
- Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and effective communication
- Engage in constant interaction, support, and communication with other departments on sustainability to ensure the smooth functioning of the operation
- Control costs and drive profitability through effective budgeting and forecasting
- Lead and inspire a productive, sustainability-focused team
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the General Manager and attend meetings as instructed
- Abide by Six Senses principles, values, and guidelines while promoting cultural respect and a positive, proactive attitude to foster a strong, loyal team
- Two or more years of progressive gardening managerial experience.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.
- Able to deal effectively with guests in a resort environment. Honesty and reliability are a must.
- Must maintain a well- groomed and professional appearance.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and assist in other positions as business demands dictate.
- Know how to handle and repair basic gardener tools.
- English with ability for basic communication.
- Ability to work with various hazardous equipment in a safe and reliable manner which may include.
- Must be able to work in an outdoor setting.
